Mar 10, 2018
It is with all the excitement I posses that I share that yesterday was the opening ceremony for the SAY IT LOUD | United Nations Exhibit to mark the 2018 International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
"The concept of this exhibit is to see our faces, hear our voices, feel our impact within the colorful tapestry of our heritage. May this be the activation of a national movement of sharing, protecting and celebrating our journey."
Fun story, it was rumored that Danai Gurira (Okoye) of the Black Panther Movie walked by our exhibit as she attended an International Women's Day Event!
Thank you to all the Distinguished NOMA Members who generously shared their work in this exhibit.
Please support and encourage those who feel injustice to stand up, speak up and to take action! Exhibit will be open until March 28th at the United Nations Visitors Center located on 1st Ave between 45th & 46th. If you are in the New York Area please take the time to visit.
