I am extremely proud to share that I gave my first Keynote Lecture at the AIA Columbus Archway Mentoring Program session on July 18, at the Center for Architecture and Design in Ohio. Thank you to Jennifer Rittler, Elizabeth Krile, and Matthew Toddy for the invitation and warm hospitality.
The request was for me to speak about my career journey's and what inspired me to become an advocate Architect. Instead of speaking about me I choose to craft a lecture focusing on the disparity of lack of representation, documentation, and acknowledgement of the great works of minority architects, organizations to get involved in to make a difference, initiatives i've begun and how the built environment can also take a stand. Lastly I also shout out other Advocate Architects and their amazing programs.
It always feels great to use my opportunities to elevate others.
The 5 Categories:
(1) General knowledge / existence of Minority Architects
(2) Flaw in the education system, enrollment / graduation rates / teaching of diverse architects
(3) The obstacles in the path of licensure
(4) Architecture as advocates
(5] Architect as advocates

My most successful program is SAY IT LOUD Exhibitions, but what was great about this lecture is that it also gave me the opportunity to talk about the other initiatives that I am spearheading in the hopes of building support for them as well. One is SEE IT LOUD Camp, this program uses technology to allow the kids to see their designed on the scale of real buildings through augmented reality.
The lecture was well received and the highest rated in the Archway lecture series!
